The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Wheeler Bearcats (Valparaiso, IN) and the host Whiting Oilers (Whiting, IN), observed Wheeler's basketball team overwhelm Whiting by a score of 62-36.

The Bearcats (8-3) will now prepare for their challenge against DeMotte Christian (DeMotte, IN). The Knights come into the non-league challenge with a 4-6 record. In their last challenge, DeMotte Christian was routed by Victory Christian Academy (Valparaiso, IN), 59-45, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Oilers battle the River Forest Ingots (Hobart, IN) in a Greater South Shore challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Whiting will attempt to improve on its 0-13 season record. The Ingots come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 64-62 league loss to Hammond Bishop Noll (Hammond, IN).
