In Friday's non-league test, the Socrates Academy Owls (Matthews, NC) basketball squad trounced the visiting Faith Academy Charter Patriots (Faith, NC), by a score of 54-29.

Next, the Owls clash with the Union Day Gryphons (Weddington, NC) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, January 28. Socrates Academy will attempt to improve on its 6-2 season record.

The Patriots (3-2) will now prepare for their test against Union Preparatory (Indian Trail, NC). The Polar Bears come into the non-league test with a 3-5 record. In their last test, Union Preparatory was routed by Lake Norman Christian (Davidson, NC), 60-22, in a non-league test.
