The Newport Tigers (Newport, NH) basketball felled the host Mascenic Regional Vikings (New Ipswich, NH), 43-28 in Tuesday's league test.
The Tigers (1-5) will now prepare for their test against Stevens (Claremont, NH). The Cardinals go into the Division III test with a 4-4 record. In their last test, Stevens was beaten by Kearsarge (North Sutton, NH), 71-20, in a league test.
The Vikings now own a 5-3 record. They play next when they travel to Hillsboro-Deering for a non-league test on Friday, January 21. Mascenic Regional will encounter a Hillcats squad coming off a 83-55 non-league loss to Monadnock (East Swanzey, NH). The Hillcats record now stands at 0-6.
