Georgia High School Basketball - Aquinas tops Westminster Schools of Augusta

Aquinas Fightin' Irish (Augusta, GA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Westminster Schools of Augusta Wildcats (Augusta, GA), 54-35 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Aquinas upgrades its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Fightin' Irish travel to Washington-Wilkes (Washington, GA) to play the Tigers in a A D2 Region 8A bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 5-11.
Next up, the Wildcats play the Frederica Academy (St. Simons Island, GA) in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 2 bout, on Saturday, January 21. Westminster Schools of Augusta will attempt to upgrade on its 11-7 season record. The come into the bout with a 8-6 record after their 50-43 league loss to Bulloch Academy (Statesboro, GA).
