Ellsworth Lancers (Ellsworth, MI) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Buckley Bears (Buckley, MI), 77-74 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Ellsworth upgrades its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Lancers host Grand Traverse Academy (Traverse City, MI) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Friday, January 20. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 0-8. Grand Traverse Academy lost 46-27 in their recent non-league bout against Leland (Leland, MI)

Next up, the Bears play the Suttons Bay Norsemen (Suttons Bay, MI) in a Northwest bout, on Friday, January 20. Buckley will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Norsemen come into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 43-20 non-league win over Traverse City HomeSchool (Traverse City, MI).
