Pewamo-Westphalia Pirates (Pewamo, MI) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Lansing Catholic Cougars (Lansing, MI), 64-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Pewamo-Westphalia upgrades its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Fowler (Fowler, MI) to play the Eagles in a Central Michigan bout on Friday, January 27. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 6-2.

Next up, the Cougars play the Portland Raiders (Portland, MI) in a Capital Area - White bout, on Friday, January 20. Lansing Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Raiders come into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 57-43 non-league win over Bath (Bath, MI).
