Leyden Eagles (Franklin Park, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Wheeling Wildcats (Wheeling, IL), 47-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Leyden upgrades its record to 11-9 on the season. The Eagles host Foreman (Chicago, IL) to clash with the Hornets in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 0-14. Foreman lost 96-43 in their recent league bout against Taft (Chicago, IL)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Elk Grove Grenadiers (Elk Grove Village, IL) in a Mid-Suburban - East bout, on Thursday, January 19. Wheeling will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record. The Grenadiers go into the bout with a 4-14 record after their 64-62 non-league loss to Belvidere North (Belvidere, IL).
