Texas High School Basketball - St. John XXIII can't hold off Varsity Opponent

The Varsity Opponent basketball team scored 36 points and restricted the host St. John XXIII Lions to 29 in the non-league victory on Wednesday.
The now sport a 266-820 record. They put it on the line next when they host Avon Grove Charter for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 18. Varsity Opponent will battle a Wolves team coming off a 49-32 league win over Aquinas Academy (Bear, DE). The Wolves record now stands at 3-5.
The Lions (6-15) will now prepare for their contest against Fort Bend Christian Academy (Sugar Land, TX). The Eagles come into the TAPPS 5A District 5 contest with a 7-8 record. In their last contest, Fort Bend Christian Academy edged Kelly Catholic (Beaumont, TX), 67-49, in a league contest.
