The Raton Tigers (Raton, NM) basketball nipped the host Des Moines Demons (Des Moines, NM), 26-24 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Tigers (6-13) will now prepare for their test against St. Michael's (Santa Fe, NM). The Horsemen go into the 3A District 2 test with a 11-6 record. In their last test, St. Michael's got by East Mountain (Sandia Park, NM), 58-12, in a non-league test.
The Demons now own a 2-12 record. They play next when they host Springer for a A District 5 test on Thursday, January 19. Des Moines will encounter a Red Devils squad coming off a 52-18 league win over Wagon Mound (Wagon Mound, NM). The Red Devils record now stands at 12-3.
