Powers Catholic Chargers (Flint, MI) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Shrine Catholic Knights (Royal Oak, MI), 51-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Powers Catholic upgrades its record to 8-4 on the season. The Chargers travel to Saginaw (Saginaw, MI) to clash with the Trojans in a Saginaw Valley bout on Friday, January 20. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 7-4. Saginaw won 59-55 in their recent league bout against Midland (Midland, MI)

Next up, the Knights clash with the Lutheran North Mustangs (Macomb, MI) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Shrine Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 8-1 record after their 50-43 non-league loss to Cabrini (Allen Park, MI).
