Piedra Vista Panthers (Farmington, NM) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Aztec Tigers (Aztec, NM), 59-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Piedra Vista upgrades its record to 5-11 on the campaign. The Panthers host Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Golden Eagles in a 5A District 2 bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Golden Eagles come into the bout with a record of 9-7. Eldorado lost 54-52 in their recent non-league bout against Cibola (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Tigers play the Los Alamos Hilltoppers (Los Alamos, NM) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 19. Aztec will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Hilltoppers come into the bout with a 3-9 record after their 54-45 non-league loss to Albuquerque Academy (Albuquerque, NM).
