Charles City Comets (Charles City, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting West Hancock Eagles (Britt, IA), 74-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Charles City upgrades its record to 5-6 on the season. The Comets travel to Waverly-Shell Rock (Waverly, IA) to clash with the Go-Hawks in a Northeast Iowa bout on Friday, January 19. The Go-Hawks go into the bout with a record of 10-2. Waverly-Shell Rock won 77-27 in their recent league bout against New Hampton (New Hampton, IA)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the North Union Warriors (Armstrong, IA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 19. West Hancock will attempt to move on its 1-13 season record. The Warriors enter the game with a 11-3 record after their 64-45 non-league win over Forest City (Forest City, IA).
