The Oakes Tornadoes basketball team (Oakes, ND), was nudged 64-62 in Thursday's league battle with the host Hankinson Pirates (Hankinson, ND)
The Pirates now possess a 9-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Enderlin for a B District 1 battle on Tuesday, January 23. Hankinson will battle a Eagles team coming off a 84-27 league loss to Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] (Rosholt, SD). The Eagles record now stands at 1-12.
The Tornadoes (4-6) will now prepare for their battle against Maple Valley (Tower City, ND). The Raiders come into the B District 1 battle with a 5-5 record. In their last battle, Maple Valley edged Hatton/Northwood (Northwood, ND), 55-27, in a non-league battle.
