The Rogers Vikings (Newport, RI) basketball felled the visiting Middletown Islanders (Middletown, RI), 70-51 in Thursday's league test.

The Vikings (9-3) will now prepare for their test against Toll Gate (Warwick, RI). The Titans go into the Division 2 test with a 1-10 record. In their last test, Toll Gate went down by Tolman (Pawtucket, RI), 86-59, in a league test.

The Islanders now own a 4-7 record. They play next when they travel to Appoquinimink for a non-league test on Friday, January 19. Middletown will encounter a Jaguars squad coming off a 63-60 league win over Mount Pleasant (Wilmington, DE). The Jaguars record now stands at 6-4.
