Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Mohawk Area Warriors (Bessemer, PA) and the host Shenango Wildcats (New Castle, PA), saw Mohawk Area's basketball squad knock off Shenango by a count of 61-50.

With the victory, Mohawk Area upgrades its record to 10-6 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Freedom Area (Freedom, PA) to play the Bulldogs in a WPIAL 3A 1 challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 0-15. Freedom Area lost 84-26 in their recent league challenge against Neshannock (New Castle, PA)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Laurel Spartan (New Castle, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 1 challenge, on Friday, January 26. Shenango will attempt to upgrade on its 9-6 season record.
