South Cougars (Salina, KS) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Abilene Cowboys (Abilene, KS), 30-28 in a non-league bout.

With the win, South upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Cougars travel to Great Bend (Great Bend, KS) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 19. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 8-2. Great Bend won 44-26 in their recent non-league bout against Buhler (Buhler, KS)

Next up, the Cowboys play the Buhler Crusaders (Buhler, KS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 19. Abilene will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Crusaders go into the bout with a 2-6 record after their 44-26 non-league loss to Great Bend (Great Bend, KS).
