The Waukon Indians basketball team scored 70 points and held the host Houston Hurricanes to 55 in the Indians non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Indians now sport a 6-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host New Hampton for a Northeast Iowa contest on Friday, January 19. Waukon will meet a Chickasaws team coming off a 78-27 league loss to Waverly-Shell Rock (Waverly, IA). The Chickasaws record now stands at 4-9.
The Hurricanes (8-7) will now prepare for their contest against LeRoy-Ostrander (LeRoy, MN). The Cardinals enter the A Section 1 contest with a 1-13 record. In their last contest, LeRoy-Ostrander was defeated by Grand Meadow (Grand Meadow, MN), 79-30, in a league contest.
