Gloucester Dukes (Gloucester, VA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Denbigh Patriots (Newport News, VA), 36-30 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gloucester upgrades its record to 4-5 on the season. The Dukes travel to Woodside (Newport News, VA) to play the Wolverines in a non-league bout on Friday, January 19. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 6-4. Woodside lost 24-23 in their recent non-league bout against Bethel (Hampton, VA)

Next up, the Patriots play the Hampton Crabbers (Hampton, VA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 25. Denbigh will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Crabbers go into the bout with a 7-0 record after their 60-6 non-league win over Kecoughtan (Hampton, VA).
