In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Aurora Houn Dawgs basketball team scored a close 64-57 triumph over the Seymour Tigers.

The Houn Dawgs (8-4) will now prepare for their contest against Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, MO). The Mountaineers go into the Big 8 contest with a 6-6 record. In their last contest, Mt. Vernon was tipped by Fair Grove (Fair Grove, MO), 79-43, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Tigers battle the Norwood Pirates (Norwood, MO) in a Summit contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Seymour will attempt to better on its 10-4 season record. The Pirates go into the contest with a 15-1 record after their 42-36 league win over Hartville (Hartville, MO).
