In Saturday's non-league test, the Pioneer Mustangs (San Jose, CA) basketball squad knocked off the host Fremont Firebirds (Sunnyvale, CA), by a score of 60-49.
Next, the Mustangs encounter the Willow Glen Rams (San Jose, CA) in a Blossom Valley - Mt. Hamilton test, on Wednesday, January 22. Pioneer will attempt to improve on its 9-7 season record. The Rams come into the test with a 9-7 record after their 54-41 non-league win over Washington (San Francisco, CA).
The Firebirds (7-8) will now prepare for their test against Homestead (Cupertino, CA). The Mustangs come into the Santa Clara Valley - El Camino test with a 12-3 record. In their last test, Homestead beat Monta Vista (Cupertino, CA), 71-59, in a league test.
