The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Homestead Spartans (Fort Wayne, IN) and the host Marion Giants (Marion, IN), observed Homestead's basketball team knock off Marion by a score of 63-54.

The Spartans (12-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Columbia City (Columbia City, IN). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 7-6 record. In their last challenge, Columbia City was knocked off by Huntington North (Huntington, IN), 66-64, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Giants encounter the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos (Lafayette, IN) in a North Central challenge, on Friday, January 24. Marion will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Bronchos come into the challenge with a 10-3 record after their 63-60 league loss to Anderson (Anderson, IN).
