Georgia High School Basketball - Jones County can't hold off Veterans

January 18, 2025: Gray, GA 31032

Veterans Warhawks (Kathleen, GA) supporters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Jones County Greyhounds (Gray, GA), 41-36 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Veterans advances its record to 12-7 on the year. The Warhawks host Houston County (Warner Robins, GA) to face the Bears in a AAAAA Region 2 match on Saturday, January 25. The Bears enter the match with a record of 17-4. Houston County won 58-50 in their recent league match against Northside (Warner Robins, GA)

The Greyhounds now own a 3-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ola for a AAAA Region 2 match on Tuesday, January 21. Jones County will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 78-76 league loss to Eagle's Landing (McDonough, GA). The Mustangs record now stands at 7-11.
