In Saturday's non-league test, the William Monroe Dragons (Stanardsville, VA) basketball squad defeated the visiting Orange County Fighting Hornets (Orange, VA), by a final score of 61-52.
Next, the Dragons clash with the Spotswood Trailblazers (Penn Laird, VA) in a Valley test, on Tuesday, January 21. William Monroe will attempt to upgrade on its 11-1 season record. The Trailblazers come into the test with a 10-3 record after their 71-47 league win over Turner Ashby (Bridgewater, VA).
The Fighting Hornets (9-4) will now prepare for their test against Monticello (Charlottesville, VA). The Mustangs come into the Jefferson test with a 5-7 record. In their last test, Monticello went down by Albemarle (Charlottesville, VA), 71-28, in a league test.
