In Saturday's non-league test, the Fairfax Lions (Los Angeles, CA) basketball squad defeated the visiting Academy for Academic Excellence Knights (Apple Valley, CA), by a final score of 57-46.
Next, the Lions clash with the Hamilton Yankees (Los Angeles, CA) in a Western test, on Wednesday, January 22. Fairfax will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record. The Yankees come into the test with a 13-2 record after their 71-63 league win over Palisades (Pacific Palisades, CA).

In their last test, Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy went down by University Prep (Victorville, CA), 44-28, in a league test.
