Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they saw their basketball team nip the visiting Wheaton Academy Warriors (West Chicago, IL), 58-56 in a non-league bout.

The Coalers now possess a 15-6 record. They play next when they host Joliet Catholic for a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 22. Coal City will play a Hilltoppers team coming off a 57-24 league loss to Marist (Chicago, IL). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 6-17.

With the loss, Wheaton Academy falls to 8-7 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Bishop McNamara (Kankakee, IL) to play the Fightin' Irish in a Chicagoland Christian bout on Monday, January 20. The Fightin' Irish go into the bout with a record of 15-6. Bishop McNamara won 50-40 in their recent non-league bout against IC Catholic Prep (Elmhurst, IL)
