In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Hazard Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs basketball team scored a close 61-55 triumph over the Wayne County Cardinals.

The Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against Buckhorn (Buckhorn, KY). The Wildcats go into the District 54 contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Buckhorn nipped Cordia (Hazard, KY), 44-30, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Cardinals confront the Casey County Rebels (Liberty, KY) in a non-league contest, on Monday, January 20. Wayne County will attempt to better on its 8-7 season record. The Rebels go into the contest with a 5-9 record after their 50-40 league loss to Rockcastle County (Mt. Vernon, KY).
