In Saturday's non-league test, the Mahanoy Area Golden Bears (Mahanoy City, PA) basketball squad trounced the host Lehigh Valley Academy Jaguars (Bethlehem, PA), by a score of 67-34.

Next, the Golden Bears encounter the Marian Catholic (Tamaqua, PA) in a Schuylkill County 2 test, on Tuesday, January 21. Mahanoy Area will attempt to improve on its 8-5 season record. The come into the test with a 16-1 record after their 70-14 league win over Nativity BVM (Pottsville, PA).

The Jaguars (9-5) will now prepare for their test against Palmerton (Palmerton, PA). The Blue Bombers come into the non-league test with a 6-4 record.
