Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Westwood Panthers (Palestine, TX) and the host Pilot Point Bearcats (Pilot Point, TX), saw Westwood's soccer squad hold off Pilot Point by a count of 1-0.

The Panthers (7-6) will now prepare for their battle against Hudson (Lufkin, TX). The Hornets enter the 4A Region 2 District 16 battle with a 2-3 record.

Next up, the Bearcats battle the Farmersville Farmers (Farmersville, TX) in a 4A Region 2 District 11 battle, on Wednesday, January 22. Pilot Point will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Farmers enter the battle with a 3-3 record after their 5-1 non-league win over West Mesquite (Mesquite, TX).
