The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) and the host Xavier Falcons (Middletown, CT), witnessed Smithfield's ice hockey team defeat Xavier by a score of 4-2.

The Sentinels (6-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Barrington (Barrington, RI). The Eagles come into the Division 1 challenge with a 6-5 record. In their last challenge, Barrington got by Prout (Wakefield, RI), 4-3, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Falcons battle the Darien Blue Wave (Darien, CT) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 20. Xavier will attempt to better on its 4-5 season record. The Blue Wave come into the challenge with a 5-1 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Notre Dame (West Haven, CT).
