Hatch Valley Bears (Hatch, NM) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Chaparral Lobos (Chaparral, NM), 40-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hatch Valley upgrades its record to 5-10 on the season. The Bears travel to Evangel Christian Academy/Oak Grove Classical Academy (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Eagle in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 26. The Eagle go into the bout with a record of 8-5.

Next up, the Lobos play the Carlsbad Cavemen (Carlsbad, NM) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. Chaparral will attempt to upgrade on its 4-13 season record. The Cavemen go into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 50-28 non-league win over Centennial (Las Cruces, NM).
