Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Swamp Owls (Kenner, LA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Jefferson RISE Charter (Harvey, LA), 63-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy upgrades its record to 2-20 on the campaign. The Swamp Owls host John Curtis Christian (River Ridge, LA) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Monday, January 23. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 10-4.

Next up, the play the South Plaquemines Hurricanes (Buras, LA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Jefferson RISE Charter will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Hurricanes come into the bout with a 6-11 record after their 80-38 non-league win over Rosenwald Collegiate Academy (New Orleans, LA).
