The Kaplan Pirates (Kaplan, LA) basketball nipped the visiting Johnson Bayou Rebels (Cameron, LA), 72-68 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Pirates (4-9) will now prepare for their test against Abbeville (Abbeville, LA). The Wildcats go into the 3A District 5 test with a 12-6 record. In their last test, Abbeville was tipped by St. Martinville (St. Martinville, LA), 67-54, in a league test.
The Rebels now own a 0-11 record. They play next when they host South Cameron for a C District 4 test on Tuesday, January 24.
