Wyomissing Spartans (Wyomissing, PA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Kutztown Cougars (Kutztown, PA), 53-35 in a league bout.

With the win, Wyomissing upgrades its record to 5-6 on the season. The Spartans host Lampeter-Strasburg (Lampeter, PA) to clash with the Pioneers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 12-3. Lampeter-Strasburg won 51-36 in their recent non-league bout against Eastern Lebanon County (Myerstown, PA)

Next up, the Cougars clash with the North Schuylkill Spartans (Ashland, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. Kutztown will attempt to upgrade on its 5-9 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 11-3 record after their 74-56 league win over Blue Mountain (Schuylkill Haven, PA).
