New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets (New Rockford, ND) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Valley City Hi-Liners (Valley City, ND), 66-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, New Rockford-Sheyenne upgrades its record to 5-10 on the season. The Rockets host St. John (St. John, ND) to play the Woodchucks in a B Region 4 bout on Friday, January 20. The Woodchucks go into the bout with a record of 6-3. St. John won 72-60 in their recent league bout against Lakota (Lakota, ND)

Next up, the Hi-Liners play the Fargo North Spartans (Fargo, ND) in a A East bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Valley City will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 78-67 league win over Wahpeton (Wahpeton, ND).
