Battle Lake Battlers (Battle Lake, MN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Bertha-Hewitt Bears (Bertha, MN), 51-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Battle Lake upgrades its record to 1-12 on the season. The Battlers host Rothsay (Rothsay, MN) to play the Tigers in a A Section 6 bout on Friday, January 20. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 10-5.

Next up, the Bears play the Pillager Huskies (Pillager, MN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Bertha-Hewitt will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 66-44 non-league loss to New York Mills (New York Mills, MN).
