Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Craig County Rockets (New Castle, VA), 53-18 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Staunton River upgrades its record to 2-9 on the season. The Golden Eagles host Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA) to play the Cavaliers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 20. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a record of 5-6. Lord Botetourt won 59-56 in their recent non-league bout against Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA)

Next up, the Rockets play the Covington Cougars (Covington, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Craig County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record.
