The Frankfort Redbirds (West Frankfort, IL) basketball felled the visiting Crab Orchard Trojans (Marion, IL), 71-55 in Friday's non-league test.

The Redbirds (9-12) will now prepare for their test against Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL). The Panthers go into the Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi test with a 17-6 record. In their last test, Pinckneyville thwarted Steeleville (Steeleville, IL), 65-34, in a non-league test.

The Trojans now own a 13-6 record. They play next when they travel to Gallatin County for a non-league test on Friday, January 26. Crab Orchard will encounter a Hawks squad coming off a 51-39 non-league win over Norris City-Omaha-Enfield (Norris City, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 9-13.
