Washington High School Basketball - Glacier Peak thwarts Mercer Island

January 19, 2024: Mercer Island, WA 98040

The Glacier Peak Grizzlies (Snohomish, WA) basketball knocked off the host Mercer Island Islanders (Mercer Island, WA), 71-62 in Friday's non-league test.

The Grizzlies (15-1) will now prepare for their test against Lake Stevens (Lake Stevens, WA). The Vikings go into the 4A Wesco test with a 5-10 record. In their last test, Lake Stevens went down by Kamiak (Mukilteo, WA), 46-43, in a league test.

The Islanders now own a 10-6 record. They play next when they travel to Liberty for a 3A KingCo test on Tuesday, January 23. Mercer Island will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 74-67 league loss to Lake Washington (Kirkland, WA). The Patriots record now stands at 9-7.
