In Friday's non-league outing, the St. Michael's Horsemen (Santa Fe, NM) basketball squad edged the host Grants Pirates (Grants, NM), by a count of 69-67.
The Horsemen (8-8) will now prepare for their outing against Raton (Raton, NM). The Tigers go into the 3A District 2 outing with a 6-7 record.
The Pirates now hold a 12-6 record. They play next when they travel to Valencia for a 4A District 5 outing on Tuesday, January 23. Grants will clash with a Jaguars squad coming off a 49-37 non-league win over Socorro (Socorro, NM). The Jaguars record now stands at 10-7.
