Illinois High School Basketball - Providence Catholic knocked off by St. Francis

The St. Francis Spartans basketball team scored 54 points and held the visiting Providence Catholic Celtics to 38 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Friday.
The Spartans now sport a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to La Lumiere for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 20. St. Francis will battle a Lakers team coming off a 72-67 non-league win over Wilson Academy (Lithonia, GA). The Lakers record now stands at 12-3.
The Celtics (7-11) will now prepare for their contest against Providence-St. Mel (Chicago, IL). The Knights enter the Chicago Catholic - White contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Providence-St. Mel was defeated by Aurora Central Catholic (Aurora, IL), 57-40, in a league contest.
