Stonington Bears (Stonington, CT) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Putnam Clippers (Putnam, CT), 70-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Stonington upgrades its record to 6-3 on the season. The Bears host Scituate (North Scituate, RI) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 20. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 0-11. Scituate lost 55-40 in their recent league bout against Central Falls (Central Falls, RI)

Next up, the Clippers play the Plainfield Panthers (Central Village, CT) in a Eastern Connecticut IV bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Putnam will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record.
