In Friday's non-league outing, the Grundy Center Spartans (Grundy Center, IA) basketball squad edged the host Columbus Sailors (Waterloo, IA), by a count of 50-46.
The Spartans (13-1) will now prepare for their outing against East Marshall (Le Grand, IA). The Mustangs go into the North Iowa Cedar - West outing with a 5-10 record. In their last outing, East Marshall was tipped by Hudson (Hudson, IA), 69-42, in a non-league outing.
The Sailors now hold a 4-9 record. They play next when they host Waterloo Christian for a non-league outing on Monday, January 22. Columbus will clash with a Regents squad coming off a 58-40 league win over Janesville (Janesville, IA). The Regents record now stands at 11-3.
