In Friday's non-league match, the host Neches Tigers basketball team scored a good 42-34 triumph over the Dodd City Hornets.
In their next game, the Tigers meet the Martinsville Pirates (Martinsville, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 27 match, on Tuesday, January 23. Neches will attempt to improve on its 19-7 season record. The Pirates come into the challenge with a 9-11 record after their 49-46 league loss to Slocum (Elkhart, TX).
