Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Eureka Tornadoes (Eureka, KS) and the visiting Riley County Falcons (Riley, KS), saw Eureka's basketball squad hold off Riley County by a count of 40-37.
With the victory, Eureka upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Tornadoes host Caney Valley (Caney, KS) to play the Bullpups in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Bullpups come into the challenge with a record of 6-2. Caney Valley won 64-35 in their recent non-league challenge against Riverfield Country Day (Tulsa, OK)
Next up, the Falcons play the Republic County Buffaloes (Belleville, KS) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 20. Riley County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Buffaloes come into the challenge with a 0-9 record after their 48-35 non-league loss to Remington (Whitewater, KS).
