McMichael Phoenix (Mayodan, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting North Forsyth Vikings (Winston-Salem, NC), 40-9 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, McMichael upgrades its record to 3-5 on the campaign. The Phoenix host West Stokes (King, NC) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 3-7. West Stokes won 34-14 in their recent non-league bout against Reidsville (Reidsville, NC)

Next up, the Vikings play the Reidsville Rams (Reidsville, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 26. North Forsyth will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Rams come into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 34-14 non-league loss to West Stokes (King, NC).
