Illinois High School Basketball - Thornton nudges Hillcrest

The crowd at Sunday's non-league challenge between the Thornton Wildcats (Harvey, IL) and the host Hillcrest Hawks (Country Club Hills, IL), observed Thornton's basketball team edge Hillcrest by a score of 50-45.

The Wildcats (6-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Curie (Chicago, IL). The Condors come into the non-league challenge with a 13-5 record. In their last challenge, Curie edged Voyageur Academy (Detroit, MI), 70-59, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Hawks encounter the Peoria Lions (Peoria, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 20. Hillcrest will attempt to improve on its 10-7 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 16-5 record after their 47-46 non-league loss to Milwaukee Academy of Science (Milwaukee, WI).
