Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Rowan County Vikings (Morehead, KY) and the host Mason County Royals (Maysville, KY), saw Rowan County's basketball squad knock off Mason County by a tally of 73-55.

With the victory, Rowan County improves its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Vikings host Lewis County (Vanceburg, KY) to play the Lions in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 11. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 6-2.

Next up, the Royals play the St. Patrick Saints (Maysville, KY) in a District 39 challenge, on Wednesday, January 4. Mason County will attempt to improve on its 4-6 season record.
