South Dakota High School Basketball - Alcester-Hudson nips Avon

January 2, 2024: Alcester, SD 57001

Alcester-Hudson Cubs (Alcester, SD) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Avon Pirates (Avon, SD), 51-50 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Alcester-Hudson upgrades its record to 3-3 on the campaign. The Cubs host Canistota (Canistota, SD) to play the Hawks in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Hawks come into the bout with a record of 6-0. Canistota won 57-44 in their recent non-league bout against Elk Point-Jefferson (Elk Point, SD)

Next up, the Pirates play the Ethan Rustlers (Ethan, SD) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 4. Avon will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Rustlers come into the bout with a 7-0 record after their 71-31 non-league win over Scotland (Scotland, SD).
