Johnson Central Golden Eagles (Paintsville, KY) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Fairview Eagles (Ashland, KY), 78-72 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Johnson Central upgrades its record to 7-3 on the season. The Golden Eagles travel to Martin County (Inez, KY) to play the Cardinals in a District 57 bout on Friday, January 5. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 6-7. Martin County lost 75-58 in their recent non-league bout against Morgan County (West Liberty, KY)

Next up, the Eagles play the Scioto Christian Soldiers (Portsmouth, OH) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 4. Fairview will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record.
