With the win, Jayton upgrades its record to 12-2 on the season. The Jaybirds host Sweetwater (Sweetwater, TX) to clash with the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 11-8.

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Shallowater Mustangs (Shallowater, TX) in a 3A Region I District 2 bout, on Friday, January 5. Slaton will attempt to upgrade on its 10-10 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 15-2 record after their 75-71 non-league loss to Hamshire-Fannett (Hamshire, TX).
